Running list of things I notice during meditation

  1. I almost always gain more energy after meditation, but still often feel like “I don’t have enough energy to start meditation”.
  2. Often 20 mins into a sit I suddenly start to feel optimistic, energetic, and the urge to get up, sitting through this often leads to the most intense meditation experiences.
  3. I sometimes pray to Buddha, which means speaking to myself. This practice helps me clarify what I’m trying to figure out, or what questions to ask.
  4. Meditating in the same place helps me calibrate how much of reality I’m perceiving, some days the same things look much less clear, and I think those are times where I am less present.
  5. I find it easier to be emotional, and feel my reaction to something that’s on my mind when I sit. I can also sometimes feel emotions unattached to any thoughts, this helps me disentagle the 2.
